Targeted prevention measures and process hygiene in veterinary medicine
Prevention of zoonoses and multi-resistant pathogens
The aim of all hygiene measures is to reduce nosocomial infections and protect employees from occupational infections. In order to keep the infection rate as low as possible, you should consider and optimize the entire process and develop bundle strategies.
Patients with zoonotic pathogens should be isolated depending on the pathogen or at least the patient box should be clearly marked.
Personal protective clothing, footwear, and gloves must always be worn when treating and caring for patient. Solid standard hygiene measures must be ensured (e.g., Vasco® Nitrile sky-blue).
Surfaces and medical devices close to the patient must be thoroughly disinfected at least daily or after use. After discharge of the patient, a thorough final disinfection of the ward/box with active ingredients such as oxygen releasing agents must be carried out.
